WHY DID THEY COME TO IEA? WHAT WAS THE CLIENT PROBLEM:

This manufacturer was moving to a new location in a 9,000 square feet warehousing facility, which included an approximately 20 by 30 foot area of laboratory space.  The purpose of the space is for  Research and development to take place that involve the use of flammable and biocide chemicals.

HOW DID IEA SOLVE THE PROBLEM: SOLUTION:

IEA provided a thorough Chemical Storage and Ventilation Review, Chemical Safety Data Sheet Training, and Online Employee Right to Know Training for the purpose of complying with Minnesota OSHA’s (MNOSHA) Employee Right-to-Know Chapter 5206, Federal Hazard Communication standard OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200, and Federal Chemical Hygiene Standard 29 CFR 1910.1450.

Employers are required to identify potentially hazardous chemicals employees may be exposed to, reduce the potential for injury associated with exposure to hazardous substances, and educate employees.  These regulations require a written Chemical Hygiene Plan be available in the workplace, proper storage of chemicals by compatibility, and labeling of secondary containers with the full identity of the material and any hazards associated with it.
