IEA Attends Southwest Regional Safety Group Meeting at Highwater Ethanol

On July 15, 2025, IEA had the opportunity to attend the Southwest Regional Safety Group Meeting, hosted by the Minnesota Safety Council at the Highwater Ethanol facility in Lamberton, MN.

Highwater Ethanol is an impressive operation, producing:

  • 50 million gallons of ethanol

  • 160,000 tons of Dried Distillers Grains (DDG)

  • Corn oil for various uses

The visit included a guided tour of the facility, offering an in-depth look at the entire production and handling process. Attendees observed the ethanol distilling operation, storage areas, dried grains and oil processing lines, and both truck and train loading/unloading stations. The tour also included a look inside Highwater's new laboratory and monitoring facilities, highlighting their commitment to precision and operational safety.

The tour was led by Highwater Ethanol's dedicated EHS and Safety team, who shared insights into their proactive safety culture and their ongoing efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible facility.

IEA is proud to participate in these important gatherings and appreciates the opportunity to engage with industry leaders who are prioritizing workplace safety. We look forward to attending more Regional Safety Group Meetings in the future.
