Environmental Technician (Seasonal)

The Institute for Environmental Assessment (IEA) provides, testing, monitoring, and consultation services in environmental, health, and safety areas such as asbestos building materials, indoor air quality, and OSHA compliance.

IEA is currently hiring Summer Environmental Technicians at our Mankato and Brooklyn Park offices. Duties include asbestos air sampling, project spec. enforcement, and building inspections.

Candidates must meet the education and/or experience requirements for certification as an Asbestos Site Supervisor. Requirements are:

  • 2,000 hours of work experience in general construction trades, asbestos related work, safety, industrial hygiene, or hazardous materials control; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences, engineering, or architecture, plus 500 hours of work experience in the areas listed above; or
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program within the general commercial construction trades.
